How to Instantly Corrode a Nail

The materials that you need are very simple and can be found around your house.

You will need:

1. Distilled Vinegar
2. Hydrogen Peroxide
3. Sea salt
4. a cup or bowl
5. measuring cup
6. Iron nail
7. Safety glasses

To instantly rust a nail you need a 1:1 ratio of hydrogen peroxide and distilled vinegar. You will also need a pinch of salt. Now we all know that in order for something to rust you need the presence of oxygen and water or moist air. For this, the hydrogen peroxide decomposes and forms nascent oxygen which is a strong oxidizing agent. With this releasing oxygen and the vinegar and salt forming a salt water like solution the nail rusts extremely fast due to a large amount of oxygen and the acidic salt water.
