How to Install an Oil Catch Can - Lexus ISF
Freddy shows you how to install an oil catch on a Lexus ISF. Oil catch cans help to catch oil vapors from the PCV system and trap them so they don't re-enter the engine and build up carbon and cause performance issues.
Supplies
You will obviously need an oil catch can, and depending on the hose/fittings on your car you may need more hose or fittings in addition to what may come in your kit to make the catch can work
Find a Mounting Location
Use the bracket that comes with your oil catch can, or make your own bracket. Find a location in the engine compartment that provides enough room for the catch can and the hoses and see how well it fits.
Hoses
Secure the catch can in the position of your choice, then install hoses/fittings. Locate the PCV valve on your engine, then the hose that connects it to the hose barb on your intake manifold. Remove the hose that connects the PCV valve to that barb, then connect your hoses to the barb on the intake manifold and the PCV valve.
Connect the Catch Can
Once you get the hoses installed and cut to length, place hose clamps over the hoses to secure them, then connect them to the catch can. The hose attached to the PCV goes to the "in" port on the catch then, the hose that goes to the barb on the intake manifold goes to the "out" port on the catch can.
Done
Once its all connected you're all finished! Now check it periodically and empty the catch can as needed, or every oil change.
