How to Install Sawtooth Hangers | Trick
In this Instructable, I will show you a way to install those tiny nails when using Sawtooth hangers. If you are like me, you have to big of fingers to hold those tiny nails while using the hammer.
I have also included the video from my Youtube channel.
What You Will Need:
You will need:
Tape Measure
Sawtooth Hangers and nails
Blue Painters Tape
Hammer
Pencil
Step 1
The first thing to do, is to find the Center of the sign. Use the tape measure to find the center and make a mark. Then align the number 10 on the tape measure with that mark. Then count over both ways and mark at the 8 inch mark. We are doing this because most studs in a wall, are on 16 inch centers.
Note if your sign is under 16", you might get by with only using 1 Sawtooth hanger.
Step 2
Then from the top of the sign, measure down about 1 1/2" and mark it. This will be the center where we put the Sawtooth hanger.
Note I have the sign flipped over, so the Top is in the bottom of the picture.
Step 3
Now most Sawtooth hangers have a mark in the middle, this is the center. Align that mark with the marks that we made on the board. Then take a piece of the Blue painters tape over the Sawtooth hangers as shown in the picture. This will hold the hanger while we nail.
Step 4
Then tear off another piece of tape and fold onto it self, then take the tiny nail that comes with the Sawtooth hangers and push it thru the tape as shown in the pictures
Step 5
Now hold the end opposite of the nail, align the nail to the hole in the hanger and hammer away. After you have hammer it all the way, just pull the tape and you are done. Do this for all the nails.
Thanks for checking out my Instructable, I hope this helps someone, I know it has help me.
