How to Install Final Cut Pro X Transitions Presets

REQUIREMENTS:

Apple Computer / Laptop
Final Cut Pro X installed
Browser to download desired Final Cut Pro X transition preset(s)

Downloading Transition Presets and Finder App

After you have downloaded your desired Final Cut Pro X preset from your browser whether it be from Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc. Then open up the 'Finder' application.

In the Finder App

Once you're in the Finder application. Make your way to the 'Downloads' folder which should already be bookmarked on the left of your 'Finder' window. Once you are in the 'Downloads' folder scroll up, or down, until you find your desired transition preset. Which will most likely be in a compressed file as shown in the example image. The file is a .zip file. It can be a .rar or any other compressed format as well, so make sure to have the appropriate decompression software downloaded.

Uncompressed Folder

Double clicked the compressed file (.zip, .rar, etc.). A uncompressed folder should appear as shown in the example image.

Copy the Transitions Folder

Right click on the transitions folder. A drop down menu should appear. Scroll down to 'Copy' the folder onto your clipboard. We will then paste the folder into another folder in a different location on your computer.

Home Tab

After you have copied the preset folder. Look for your "Home" bookmark as shown in the example image. Click on it to enter that bookmark structure.

Home Tab to the Movies Folder

Once you're in the "Home" bookmark. You'll see a variety of folders with different names. Find the folder labeled "Movies". Double click to enter into that folder.

Motion Templates Folder

Once you are in the "Movies" folder. Find the "Motion Templates" folder. Double click to enter into that folder.

Transitions Folder

Once you are in the "Motion Templates" folder. Find the folder labeled "Transitions". Double click to enter into that folder.

Paste New Transitions Into Transitions Folder

Now that you are in the "Transitions" folder. You will need to paste the new transition presets folder you originally copied in step 4 into this Transitions folder shown in the example image above. In-order to paste. Use this shortcut command on your keyboard. Command + V.

New Final Cut Pro X Transitions Are Installed

Open up Final Cut Pro X. Go to the Final Cut Pro X transitions section to find your newly installed transition presets and enjoy the awesome!
