Does your handwriting ever seem wonky or messy? It just doesn’t ever feel right! Well I’m here to help you out. I've had a lot of experience with this so I can relate. Well crafted printing can affect both your fluency and quality of your writing. Neat handwriting can also help you stay organized and better at note taking. I personally have had more success with neat printing. If I can do it, I believe you can do it as well! Keep in mind that you have your own creative style of writing. Your writing can tell a lot about you, if you would like to improve then keep on reading! I hope this helps, so let's get started!

Supplies

-A sharpened pencil (Mechanical pencil works too)

-An eraser (Mistakes will happen!)

-Lined paper

Staying Inside the Lines

Firstly, you have to try your best to stay inside of the lines on the paper, this is very important! If you go outside the lines it will look more wonky and we have to prevent that from happening. Big and small words are often sometimes hard to read, if they all stay inside one line it makes it way easier to understand. Keep on practicing and you will see a huge improvement in your writing. :)

Maintaining Good Posture

Now that you have mastered staying inside the lines, we will move on to maintaining good posture! It's easy really, all you have to do is make sure that you aren’t slouching or bending down all the way to see. Sitting up straight can reduce back pain, and neck pain. You will feel more motivated to keep on writing as well. This has helped me too.

Keeping All of the Letters the Same Size

Third, it is very important to keep all of your letters the same size. Having them all different sizes can make it hard to read. Also having your letters big and small can make it look wonky and messy and a little bit disorganized. I would totally recommend practicing and trying to perfect this technique almost everyday or once a week. Trust me, this step will fix most of your writing. Keep in mind that it doesn’t have to be exactly the same size, it's okay if your other letter is a little bit bigger than the other one. Another thing is that when you are writing, I would recommend not pressing too hard on your pencil/pen because your hand might start to get sore and if you press too hard then your paper might rip. Try to practice by writing words, the alphabet etc. Remember, try to keep it all of the same size. I’m sure you will improve!

the Slant of Your Words

Once you are done with step 3 we will move on to step 4! Now, the slant of your words, or the way you write is again very important! Writing in a slant makes your writing look kind of formal, but it's optional. Make sure that your writing isn’t all over the place in terms of slant. Do not have your writings slant going to the left then going right, instead keep it all in one direction. You can make your slant towards the left or right, it's totally up to you but remember don’t have it going all over the place. Try to hold your pencil/pen in a slanted position too, maybe that would help as well. Remember having it all in one direction can help you a lot!

The Spaces in Between Your Words

As soon as you are done that, we will move onto step 4! So, the spaces in between your words/letters can really affect the way you write. Having big spaces between your words or letters may make it hard to understand, and same with very little amount of space. Try to keep your spaces consistent and not too big or small. Often, in a hurry people don’t realize that their spaces are too far apart or way too close and that's okay. When you are note-taking, this is very important so that you can keep your writing neat and organized and easy to read. If you're in a hurry it’s okay to write really fast and messy but just don’t make it a habit!

The Thickness of Your Letters

At last, we will work on our letters' thickness. The thickness of your letters is very important too. Having one letter thicker than the other can make it look messy and disorganized. We are preventing that. If your letters are too thin, it's too light to read. Make sure to not have thick strokes in your writing, or too thin strokes. Keep it neat and consistent!
