Are you bored during quarantine? Tired of playing video games all day long? Baking getting old? Even those videos of people wasting toilet paper are becoming monotonous? Then we have some tips for you!

Supplies

  • Computer/online access
  • Art supplies
  • Friends (optional)
  • TV
  • Movie/Netflix/HBO/really anywhere you can rent movies
  • Snacks
  • A backyard/anywhere outside of the house (there are no excuses you have to have this)
  • A brain

Zoo Cams

Many zoos have started live cams during quarantine. Atlanta zoo and San Deigo zoo are just a couple. These cams can show everything from pandas, to fish, to porcupines, to lizards! Since you most likely can't visit zoos, these are a fun way to still see the animals, and its free!

Here are a few links:

DIY's/art!

Online is a very good place to find art projects, and since you are at home, you probably have tons of time on your hands. Most projects just require markers, paint, color pencils, chalk, or pens as mediums, and most people just have those laying around at home. And don't fret! You don't need a sketch book or fancy watercolor paper to do these. Printer paper, cardboard, and even the sidewalk can be used! Simply look up DIY art projects, or at home projects and let your creativity go wild! And if you're short a few supplies, don't worry about it! Substitute supplies and wing it when necessary. This could make your even better! Don't worry about exactly coping the example, projects unique to you are the best ones! Especially if you are having fun.

Play With Friends (safely!)

What better entertainment than playing with friends! There's not much else to say! But make sure as you hang out you are SAFE. Wear masks and stay 6 feet apart. Wondering if what you're doing is safe? Check out: https://www.cdc.gov/

Home Theater

You don't need a living room like this to have a fun home theater. All you need is some fun movies and snacks.

First, choose a movie.

Then, pop some microwave popcorn and get some candy.

Next, put the movie in, and sit back and relax with friends or family. (or by yourself!)

GO OUTSIDE!!!!!

Even though people have had a lot of time on their hands, many people haven't gone outside enough. Going outside is a great way to relax, exercise, get fresh air, and get vitamin D. Lay on the grass on a sunny day (or a cold day if you're that kind of person), dance in the rain, read a book, lay in a hammock, hike, play a game, and SO MUCH MORE!!!!!!!

Have a Positive Attitude

Having a positive attitude can make any situation fun. In quarantine, things may seem hopeless dull, and boring, so spend some time doing things you love with people you love. (SAFELY). If you continue feeling horrible consider meditation or even online therapy. Take care of yourself.

Things that keep me positive/things I do when I'm sad:

  • Listen to happy music, or any music that makes me happy🎧
  • Chat/hang out with my friends
  • Photography/art📷
  • Writing
  • Read
  • Watch Netflix (why not?)
  • Eat, eat so much potato chips. And popcorn🍟🍕
  • Yoga🧘
  • Go outside
  • Just thinking
  • Cry it outttttttttttt!!!!!!! (It's okay to cry! As long as you're not crying over nothing...)😭😭
  • Feel bad for yourself (Once again, it's okay!)
  • Talk to someone you trust if you're feeling real bad
  • Think about positive imagery/ideas😊

Doughnut or Donut?

Screenshot 2021-02-06 at 15.36.58.png

Random question. Do you type doughnut or donut. I looked it up and it says, "the Official Dictionary Spelling of the word in question—if you're into that sort of thing—is “doughnut.” The expedited, simplified, Americanized spelling of “donut,” as Grammarist tells us, has been around since at least the late 19th century. It didn't catch on, though, until late in the 20th century." But when you are chatting with your friends, do you write, "hey! Wanna get some doughnuts?!" or "hey! Wanna get some donuts?"
