How to Get the Gamey Taste Out of Deer Meat.
This method is Unlike ANYTHING you have ever seen. See my number one
tip for getting the gamey taste out of your wild meats, and my better than beef recipe for cooking venison. So check out this video if you plan to have deer meat for dinner!
Step 1: Watch the Video:)
Grab a Sharp Knife
Using a filet knife trim away EVERYTHING that is white. Tendons, fat, silverskin, the works. This is the primary cause of the foul game flavor in deer meat. Even the soft fat that is good on beef, needs to go.
De-bone
Remove the meat from the bones, but do NOT saw through any of them as bone dust is also a major offender.
The Mix.
When your ready to cook scoop some four into a bowl and add a pack of onion soup mix.
Slice It Up
This recipe is for tenderloin, but any of the roast meat will also work. Slice it into 1/2" thick medallions.
Coat It
Dip the pieces in butter milk and then roll in the seasoned flour. Press down hard on them while they are in there so the breading sticks well.
Fry in Bacon Grease.
You could use butter, but for this recipe the very best way to go is the bacon. Fry them in a hot skillet just until they are brown on each side. ENJOY! Thanks for watching.
