Step-by-Step:

1.Wash your hair: Before you blow dry, apply a heat protectant, cream, spray or gel to help protect your hair from the flat iron's heat. Blow dry with a round brush or large paddle brush. Be careful to smooth out any waves or kinks around the crown of your head.

2.Create sections: To make flat-ironing easier, pin the top of your hair up with a clip and part your hair into sections. Be sure hair is smoothed out.

3. Iron your hair: Use one-inch plates or two-inch plates for longer hair. Set the temperature (I set mine to 350 degrees). Clamp down on your hair with the flat iron and iron one-inch sections at a time. Remember to pull down slowly. Keep the iron moving at all times. Release sections from the top of your head, and continue ironing all of your hair.

4. Shine: Apply a shine-enhancing product to help close the cuticle and make hair super shiny. We recommend Frederick Fekkai's Glossing Cream. Use a pea-sized amount, rub in palms and distribute evenly throughout hair.

Tip: If you find you've made a mistake, wait until your hair cools down and you can re-do that piece of hair.
