Make sure your hair is thoroughly brushed through so that is it easier to grab sections of hair. You can also dampen your hair because it helps you grab and hold onto the hair better as well as make sure there are less fly-away hairs.

Divide Your Hair Into 2 Even Sections

Split hair evenly into 2 sections.

Take a Thin Strand of Hair From the Left Section

Take a piece of hair about 0.5 in. thick from the outside of the left section of hair.

Take a strand of hair from the outside of the right section of hair and bring it over to the left section. This will now be a part of the left section.

Tighten Hair

Tug gently on the 2 sections of hair so that your braid will be tighter and less likely to fall out as you continue to braid.

Keep Repeating Steps 3 and 4 Alternating Each Side Until You Reach the End of Your Hair

Continue to bring small sections of hair from the left and right sections to the opposite side, alternating each time until you reach the end of your hair. Make sure to leave enough hair to tie off at the end.
