How to Fill a Balloon With Baking Soda & Vinegar
In this instructable I will show you a neat little experiment! In this experiment, a balloon is filled via the gas created during the chemical reaction between baking soda and vinegar. I hope you enjoy!
Materials Needed
For this project you will need:
- 1 Bottle
- 1 Funnel (I am using a paper funnel)
- 1 Balloon
- Baking Soda
- Vinegar
- 1 Bottle
- 1 Funnel (I am using a paper funnel)
- 1 Balloon
- Baking Soda
- Vinegar
Adding Baking Soda to the Balloon
Attach the funnel to the mouth of the balloon. Pour, or dish the baking soda into the balloon until it is significantly full. Take the balloon out of the funnel, we will use this later.
Putting Vinegar in the Bottle
Pour the vinegar into the bottle. There is not a specific amount, but just keep in mind the more vinegar you add, the bigger the balloon will get. Also, you should probably add more if the bottle is bigger, and less if it is smaller.
Putting the Balloon on the Bottle
Just put your balloon from step 2 on the mouth of the bottle!
The Fun Part!
Just turn the balloon upside-down so the baking soda pours into the bottle. The balloon will fill up from the gases produced from the chemical reaction between the baking soda and vinegar. Well I hope you enjoyed this neat experiment!
