How to Extract Hydrogen and Oxygen From Water

this is an instructable on how to extract hydrogen and oxygen from water be safe!

Supplies

  1. two clear airtight containers (I used two test tubes)
  2. Playdough or tape
  3. Power supply (anywhere from 6 volt to 12 volt is good)
  4. Glass dish
  5. WARNING.handle this project with care it does use electricity

Fill the Glass Container With Warm Water

Put Salt in the Water Until When You Stir It There Is Salt Left Over

I used Himalayan salt which gave it an odd color

Put a Tube(or Whatever You Are Using) Into the Salt Water Until It Is Submerged Make Sure There Are No Bubbles

Tilt Upright Without Letting Any Water Escape Double Check for Bubbles and Fasten It in Place With Either Tape or Playdough

Repeat on the Other Side

Put the Wires From Whatever Power Supply You Are Using Under the Two Tubes.reinforce It Tape If You Want To

Plug the Power Supply in and Watch the Bubbles Rise Into the Tube. the One That Bubbles More Is Hydrogen the Other One Is Oxygen. Have Fun and Be Safe
