Learn how to draw a heart ❤ quick and easy. For this tutorial I will use Photoshop and a grid pattern to draw a heart. But, you can use a similar technique to draw a heart on paper.

First, open a new Photoshop file. Set the width and height the same size to make a square canvas. I will use an 800x800px canvas.

Set the background color white. Then, add this grid png image in a new layer. Set the opacity to around 30%.

You can also use these grid Photoshop brushes or you can press Control+' to add the Photoshop default grid system.

Use the Rectangle Tool to add a square shape. Keep the Shift key pressed to make a square not a rectangle. Set the blend mode to Multiply so that you can see the grid below.

Create a new layer and use the Brush Tool to add some dots that will help you with the heart drawing.

Pick the Pen Tool and make sure that the Pick Tool Mode is set to Shape not Path.

Click on the dot marked with "1".

Click on the dot marked with "2". Keep the Shift key pressed and drag to create a rounded edge.

Continue to add anchor points. When you need round edges, keep the Shift key and drag. When you need a sharp point, simply click.

This is how you can create an easy heart vector shape using Photoshop. To draw a heart on paper is just as easy if you follow these instructions.

If you want to use the Photoshop heart shape in other projects, make a custom shape. Right click on the heart and choose Define Custom Shape.
