How to Download and Install Faithful Texture Packs for Minecraft

Essentially Texture packs are visual enhancements and modifications for the game. They replace the original textures designed by Mojang with new ones, Each has their own different taste. There are medieval packs, cartoonish packs, high definition texture packs and even realistic texture packs. However, one type of texture pack has become the most popular - Faithful texture packs.

What is Faithful

Faithful texture packs are technically resource packs which modify the whole look of the game to look more crisp, smoother, and essentially better WITHOUT removing the original aspect and themes of the game. It remains “faithful” to the true essence and vibe of how Minecraft was originally designed to be. Hence, it has been called Faithful.

Downloading Optifine is a necessary first step which you will need to do once when installing any texture pack or resource pack. It allows you to run the game with the packs and provides new video and visual settings. These settings allow you to use higher resolution textures and shaders, and Faithful.

Here are the prior steps in installing Optifine:

1. Download Optifine

2. Unzip the file

3. Run the installer

4. Point to the proper directory

5. Click Install

There are several types of Faithful texture packs. You need to choose which one you would prefer, but the most famous ones are currently Faithful 32x and Faithful 64x. All you would need to do is click on the link provided above which redirects you to our Top Faithful texture packs list.

Afterwards, you need to pick which one you like, click on the download link, then start the download. You can save it anywhere you want, but putting it on the desktop would be best since we will move it anyways.

After you have downloaded the Faithful texture pack you desire successfully, please follow these steps.

1. Initiate the run command by holding windows button + R together at the same time

2. Type %appdata% and hit enter

3. Click on .minecraft folder

4. Click on resourcepacks folder
