How to Download an App

Trouble turning the flashlight off, or dictating the brightness? Although some people are heavily technologically challenged, here’s an easy step by step to downloading apps on an iPhone. It’s so easy the only thing needed is an iPhone!

First open the app store. It is a blue app with a white “A” inside it. It could be on the first screen on an iPhone unless the user moved it somewhere. Anyhow, if it is hiding, it can be searched for.

Second, figure out the app to download. Although a person may just want to search for an app and not know which one right away. That’s okay. To find an app scroll through the different sections at the end of the of the page such as “today,” “games,” “apps,” “arcade,” and “search.” Looking through any of those sections can help find an app or by clicking on search and then typing in the search bar allows a person to find exactly what they want.

Next, after an app has been searched for scroll through the search results to find what is being looked for. If a person wants more information on an app they may click on that app and scroll through that specific information and look at specs and reviews. For example, the NBA app.

Following the decision of an app to download, click the blue button near the top of the screen near that either says “get” or the price of the app.

After clicking the button that will allow to be downloaded, a popup will appear with another blue button that says “install.” By clicking on that it will once again bring up another prompt to enter the password for the apple ID the phone is signed up with.

Finally, the app will begin downloading on the phones home screen. After the app is completely downloaded, it can be moved to a different screen, or a folder on a phone. By holding down on the app another popup appears. Clicking “edit home screen” allows the app to be moved from page to page or into a folder.
