How to Do the Max Hydration Method
Have a problem with dry, brittle hair? The Max Hydration method might be the solution for you. The Max Hydration Method was designed for natural hair that tends to becomes excessively dry even after it has been moisturized. Its main focus is to bring moisture to your natural curls and actually keeping the moisture locked in. Follow this guide to help bring your hair back to life.
Before you start, make sure you have:
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Bentonite Clay
- Sulfate-free Conditioner
- Leave-in Condtiner
- Gel
Clarify With ACV
To do the Max Hydration Method, you want to start off with fresh, clean hair. Clarify your hair with an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse. Mix one part Apple Cider Vinegar with 2 parts water. Pour the mixture onto you scalp first and massage to lift up dirt. Pour the rest of the rinse onto your hair. When hair is clean, rinse thoroughly.
*TIP: Put ACV mixture into and applicator bottle to make process easier.*
Co-Wash & Detangle
Split hair into sections. On each section, apply a sulfate free conditioner and gently detangle hair. Your can detangle with a wide-comb, denman brush, or your fingers. After you detangle, let conditioner sit for 15-20 minutes with a plastic cap on then rinse.
Clay Rinse
After hair is fully rinsed out, apply a clay rinse. Mix 1 cup of Bentonite Clay with 2-3 cups of warm water. Apply the mix to your hair in sections. Let the mix sit on your hair 15-20 minutes then rinse. BE GENTLE!
*Be careful not to touch hair too much when rinsing because the clay is hard!*
Condition & Gel
While hair is still soaking wet, split hair into sections. On each section, apply a sulfate - free, leave- in conditioner. Rake the conditioner gently through your hair with your fingers. After the conditioner, apply a quarter sized amount of gel on hair. Gently rake through hair. Repeat on each section and you're done!
*TIP: For extra curl definition, twirl hair with fingers after you apply the gel.*
