When we think of patterns, we often imagine well-defined geometric shapes repeated over and over. However, patterns don't always have to be so rigid. Today, I want to share a technique called Neurographic Art. Neurographic art is a therapeutic drawing method that involves creating flowing, organic lines and shapes that represent the connections between different parts of the brain. This technique is used to promote relaxation, emotional healing, and creativity. It’s important because it helps release stress, increase mindfulness, and improve mental clarity.

Using this technique, we’ll create intricate, mesmerizing patterns that will decorate a couple of phone cases, giving them a unique and spectacular design.

Supplies

Materials You'll Need:

  1. A fine-tip black permanent marker
  2. A white permanent marker
  3. A transparent phone case
  4. A black phone case

Draw Curved Lines on the Transparent Case

Start with the transparent phone case. On the inner side, use the black permanent marker to draw curved lines. Try to make the lines have large internal loops, crossing over each other in various places.

Thicken the Lines

Go over all of the lines to make them thicker. This adds depth and dimension to the design.

Emphasize the Intersections

Where the lines cross each other, trace over these intersections to create rounded effects. The goal is to avoid sharp angles and make the design flow more smoothly.

Create the Intricate Pattern

To form the pattern, start drawing small curved lines from the narrowest part of each area. Spread these lines throughout each section, and you'll see how an attractive and complex pattern begins to emerge.

Final Result on the Transparent Case

Once you're done, place the transparent case on your phone to admire your unique, custom design.

Repeat the Process on the Black Case

Now, repeat the process on the black phone case. Again, start by drawing curved lines with internal loops and intersections. However, this time, skip the step of thickening the lines, as the white marker is difficult to handle and doesn't allow for this.

Skip Thickening and Continue the Pattern

Continue drawing the internal curved lines in each area to reveal the same beautiful pattern that emerges from the first case.

Admire the Final Result

Finally, place your phone inside the black case and admire the one-of-a-kind design you’ve created.
