How to DIY a LED Light?

Now, in addition to pursuing the hardware, most DIY enthusiasts are also keen to "dress up" their chassis, such as transparent side panels, UV equipment, light-emitting fans, and LED lights. Although these things are beautiful, they are not very cheap, which makes some DIY enthusiasts discouraged. In fact, these things are not complicated, and the cost is very low, you can DIY yourself, today we will introduce how to make LED lights.

First, let's introduce the raw materials and required tools:

· A 4-pin large D port connector

· 2x 5mm LED lights (3.6 volts)

· Electric soldering iron

· Hot glue gun

· Wire cutters

· plastic pipe

A 4-pin large D-port connector has two ports, male and female. In the picture, the male head is at the top and the female head is at the bottom. There are 4 wires in the connector, namely: red, black, black, and yellow, and their different combinations have different voltages. We need to find a pair of wire combinations suitable for this LED light.

First test the red line and the black line that close to the red line, the measured voltage is about 5V.

Secondly, the yellow wire and the black wire near the yellow wire are tested, and the measured voltage is about 12V.

Finally, the combination of the yellow and red lines, the measured voltage is about 7V. This voltage is exactly what we need. Because the voltage of the LED lamp used this time is about 3.6V, the two are also about 7V.

Next, we cut the two black wires from the male head, leaving about 1cm and linking the two black wires together.

Then let's take a look at these two LED lights. They have two pins with a long end, the long pin is the positive pole, and the short pin is the negative pole.

Now it is the key to production. Connect the positive pole (long pins) of the two LED lights to the yellow and red wires at the female head, and the negative pole (short pins) to the corresponding adjacent black wires. Then turn on the power and check whether the LED light is glowing. If it glows normally, you can continue with the following work.

Next we fill the female connector of the connector with a hot glue gun, which is to fix the LED light in the female connector of the connector.

Finally, for the sake of beauty, let’s put a layer of plastic hose on the wire jacket.
