Think of Your Name

This time you will need to think of what your business will mainly focus on. For me I created a lawn business. I thought of a word that could include how they knew it was a lawn business. It was simply just lawn. Then I thought of a rhyming which was pawn. Pawn told my potential clients that they could find good prices for our work. Put the two words together and I got Pawn Lawn©. Another thing that I thought of was a reference. Think of something like a show or thing that you really love. I got Law and Order. Law sounds like lawn, so I got Lawn and Order (You can use this if you like)

Creating a Logo

This time around you will really need to use your head. This for me was one of the hardest parts to think of. It differs for each type of business. For a barber shop people typically include the barber pole or scissors to indicate that they are barbers. For a laundromat they might include a hanger or washer and dryer to indicate that they wash clothes. For my business I thought of trees. Then I thought that I could put my logo underneath the trees. But that was not the hard part. The hard part was going above and beyond by incorporating a secret message. I put navy blue on half of the trees, then I shaded it into sky blue. That indicates that I am available from dusk to dawn.

Create a Slogan

For this it could be a joke, or maybe your slogan could be; serving the local community since 2021. I chose a joke with again a word that rhymes or can take the place of something. My word was grass. My slogan is ¨Is your lawn a a pain in the grass? Call us ©¨ another one was ¨You grow it. We mow it¨ And finally for winter was as simple as ¨Don't worry, we SNOW what we are doing ¨ I came up with all of these but the last two were for advertisements.

All you need for this is, a pencil, sharpie marker, drawing items (colored pencils, markers, crayons, etc) and a large piece of paper. To start you will need to draw your slogan out of PENCIL. Then if your satisfied than you can outline it in sharpie very carefully. Finally add some color to spice it up.

Get Ready for Your Grand Opening

All that is required for this step is to make sure you have the items to create your business. For me I needed gloves, a mower, a snow shovel, and experience (which I got from yard work). Once you have found all your supplies finally hang your sign up and wait.

WHY IS NO ONE COMING. I THOUGHT THAT THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO WORK!!!!!

Don´t worry if nobody comes to your business immediately. It might take two weeks or even a month. It took me 2 years to get 7 clients. This is where you need to have patience. A lot of people give up when no one shows up. Just remember that soon people will come

Create Business Cards

Your business card logo may look a little different than your original logo like mine if it is to hard to draw. A tip for business cards is glueing two pieces of paper together and drawing your logo and contact information. You can do this step while you wait for clients.
