Content is a key part of any website. Without it, you will find that you will not have anyone stick around long enough to buy, convert or book any of your services.
Content needs to be precise yet educational. People only tend to read the first 100 words before they decide if they need to read on or not. We can be very lazy and only pick out the key words we are looking for before we move on. This means that you need content to be catching and fun to read.

Tone of Voice

Who wants to read something that sounds boring? Absolutely know one, making the key tone of your website fit in with what you are about. If you sell bouncy castles, then why not make the tone of voice fun and bubbly. If you are in the business sector, make it sound a bit more formal and professional.

Images and Video

Content is not just what is written on the page. It is also images, videos, podcasts and symbols which all count as content. The idea of visual content is to make it eye catching. Make sure you use the right size images in the correct resolution to make your website look as professional as you can. You do not want over stretched images, or pixelated ones. Customers may think that your website is not up to scratch, and neither will be your work.

Navigation Through Content

Don’t just make it interesting to read, but use internal linking throughout your website to other more interesting places on your website. You do not want just some text on a page. At some point, someone might decide that they need to be in a certain place you talk of. To guide them on a journey through a website, add anchor text links through to your other pages. This is also benefit from an SEO perspective allowing you to rank for the anchor text links you put in your content to certain pages. This helps to tell Google what the page is about that you have linked through to.

Making the Content Go Viral

In order to make content go viral, there are a manner of different types of content that you could write that would lead to some of your content from your website to go viral.

1. Lists – Writing lists can go on forever, but there are certain types of lists that people pay attention to and share. Top tens and top fives are popular for getting quick key facts into the subject area they want to know about. Along with key insights as to how the key point got into the list, you need to back up with evidence the reason behind your choice for a top ten/five.

2. Writing a ‘How To’ Article – People are always interested in how to do something within their industry. There are endless amounts of articles across the internet telling people how to make something, do something and how to advice on particular areas. For best writing tips you may want to include ‘Guide’ within the title. Make sure you teach someone something that they will want to know on a social media network. Do not pick easy tasks anyone can do.

3. Write about a social network. You can get a lot of traffic through criticizing social networks, though it is not always recommended unless you back up with a good reason.

4. Write about something in the News – Looking at something that is popular within the news, you are more likely to get more coverage from Google sending it out. This is a situation where you can appeal to a bigger and wider audience.

Make sure you express a key interest in what you are talking about, and talk about it in passion. When you have been writing about something that you want to make sure that the person reading it still remembers what it was about in the first place. Do not waffle on and keep in the content which is key and needed to back up assumptions. If not, you could be saying nothing in 500 words.

Once you know what content is to go on your website, arrange how it will fit in the sections and get the most out of layout. Know where people are likely to look and use the content to the best of your advantage. If you are looking to write content for web design in West Sussex, Surrey, Kent or London, you can write good content where ever you need to.
