How to Craft a Versatile Centerpiece Wreath for Every Season
Looking for a centerpiece that works beautifully all year long? This versatile centerpiece wreath is easy to craft, completely customizable, and requires no messy glue or watering. Using a Canadian mailbox evergreen swag as your base, you can layer silk florals, greenery, and natural-touch branches for a full, lush look. Finish it off with a simple wired ribbon bow, and you’ll have a charming arrangement perfect for any season or holiday. Follow along to create a centerpiece that’s as effortless as it is stunning!
Supplies
- Canadian Mailbox Evergreen Swag
- Natural-Touch Branches (twig branch sprays, etc.)
- Natural-Touch Silk Greenery (variegated leaves, sedum berry branches, etc.)
- Natural-Touch Silk Florals (cherry blossoms, roses, etc.)
- 1.5” Wired Ribbon (natural green color)
- Pipecleaner
- Scissors
Step 1: Grab Your Base
Begin with your centerpiece base. For this craft, we are using a Canadian mailbox evergreen swag. It’s the perfect starting point and structure for this design, as its wire branches can be easily twisted to secure the sprays and florals that you’ll be adding. This eliminates the need for glue! Its natural tone also blends beautifully with the realistic elements of the arrangement, creating a seamless look.
Step 2: Add Branches, Greenery, & Florals
Next, gather your natural-touch branches, silk greenery, and florals. We recommend starting with longer branches and greenery, then layer in medium and shorter sprays and floral picks to build dimension.
Once you’ve selected the pieces that you’ll start with, place your first two pieces on top of the evergreen swag with their stems facing inward. Secure them by twisting two of the swag’s wire branches over the stems. For extra stability, twist a few wires over each new element you add.
From there, continue layering greenery, branches, and florals to create a lush, full arrangement. For an organic, natural look, mix in a variety of organic-inspired accents such as twig branch sprays, variegated leaves, berry branches, cherry blossoms, roses, and other complementary florals and sprays.
Step 3: Fluff & Adjust
Once all of your elements are in place, take a moment to fluff the greenery and florals and make any final adjustments. If you’ve included branches or twigs with a wired interior, try twisting the ends to give your centerpiece a soft, whimsical touch.
Step 4: Make & Add a Bow
Next, you’ll make a simple bow that will go right in the middle of your centerpiece! We recommend using a 1.5” wired ribbon in a natural green color that will blend in with the design. For this craft, we used a moss colored ribbon.
To create your bow, take a long piece of ribbon and make two loops. Set this aside and repeat this process again. After you have two single bows, you’re going to stack them on top of each other to create one large bow. Next, take a pipecleaner and tie the bows together. You’ll use that same pipecleaner to tie the completed bow to the center of your centerpiece design. After the bow is secured, curl or twist the tails of your bow for a soft touch.
Create the Perfect Centerpiece With Confidence
This craft really is that simple! There’s no need to worry about mud or wilting flowers with this centerpiece because of the silk flowers, artificial branches, and stems. You can even customize this design with seasonal colors and wreath enhancements to create a festive centerpiece for any holiday!
