In a bowl add:

  • 1 Tbsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Tbsp Paprika
  • 1/2 Tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper

Mix together.

Now to Prep the Drumsticks.

Using either a sharp knife or a pair of scissors, cut through the tendons.

Make sure you’ve cut right around.

Push down the meat down to towards the top of the drumstick.

Then Remove the Top by Bending It Backwards.

It will take a bit of force.

You could dig out the other bone but personally I think it will destroy to look of your lollipop.

Plus, most people realise there’s a bone there.

Repeat with the rest of the drumsticks.

Next Roll the Drumsticks Through the Rub.

I like use a small bowl like this because it will help you get a even coating of the rub.

These are ready to hit the BBQ.

Setup Your Charcoal for Indirect Grilling

For extra flavour I’m adding some cherry wood.

Place the Drumsticks Opposite the Charcoal.

Make sure they are standing on their ends.

We’re going to cook these at a high temp of around 350f or 180c.

Cover with the lid and cook for 30 minutes.

Dip the Drumstick Into Your Choice of BBQ Sauce.

I’m using our homemade BBQ Sauce, you can find the link to the recipe in the description.

Now there are starting to look like lollipops!

Cover with the lid and cook for 15 more minutes.

All That’s Left to Do Is Serve Then Up.
