How to Clean the Interior of Your PS5

This is an easy-to-follow step-by-step on how to clean the interior of your PS5. This should be done every 3-6 months to prevent overheating and damage to internal components.

To clean the interior of your PS5, you'll need a damp paper towel, electronic duster, soft bristle toothbrush, and a T8 Torx screwdriver.

Make sure to close all applications and turn off your PS5. Once the light on the bottom of the console is no longer blinking, it is safe to unplug.

Look for the PS5 logo in the bottom left corner to know your console is facing the right direction.

Gently grab the top left corner of the panel and pull up. The panel should pop off quite easily. If you are struggling to remove the panel, check to make sure you are removing the correct panel. Make sure you are pulling in the right direction so you don't damage the clips.

Once you have successfully removed the panel, take your damp paper towel and clean any debris from the back of the removed panel.

Take your soft bristle toothbrush and gently brush away dust from the top surface of the exposed interior.

After you've cleared the superficial debris, take your electronic duster and blow away any remaining particles.

Flip the console over and remove the panel on the left side the same way you removed the first panel.

Grab your T8 Torx screwdriver and remove the 4 screws to access the fan blade. Lift up the fan blade to visualize dirt and debris. The fan blade does not have to be completely disconnected for you to clean it.

Once again, take your soft bristle toothbrush to gently clean dust and debris from the fan blade.

Use the electronic duster to blow away any other debris from the fan or inside the console.

Using your T8 Torx screwdriver, reinstall fan the blade.

Replace both exterior panels by gently popping them back on to either side of your console.
