How to Change a Rotary Engine Oil (1993 Mazda RX 7)
The Mazda RX-7 was a sports car that was produced by the Japanese automaker Mazda from 1978 to 2002. The first RX-7 featured an 1,146 cc (69.9 cu in) twin-rotor Wankel rotary engine and a front-mid-ship, rear-wheel drive layout. This car is a timeless piece of art that many have not heard about in the U.S.
Prepare all equipment and supplies you need to change engine oil for your 1993 Mazda RX-7 to make every procedure smooth. You will need a 10 mm socket wrench, oil catcher, replacement parts and 2 ton jack.
Open the hood of your 1993 Mazda RX-7 and the oil filter and drain out its original oil.
Loosen the plug with properly-sized socket. Be careful to not drop the plug into your oil pan. If it drops into it, you can find it with a magnet.
For some vehicles which have a filter element or cartridge as opposed to the simpler spin-on type, you should open the cap of a built-in reservoir.
Then we will go to the process of locating the filter. Filters are not located in a standard position. Look somewhere away from the engine, where cool areas are. Once you find it, you should remove it. Find something similar to the replacement you bought. This is a difficult action; you should keep trying until success.
Replace your drain plug on your oil pan and install a replacement gasket or washer.
Screw the new filter on carefully and pay attention to not to cross the threads. There are many small part of it including a paper cartridge filters and O-rings etc. All of these small parts should be replaced to ensure no leakage. Read the specifications on the filter or box it came in to see how tight it could be.
Add new oil to your 1993 Mazda RX-7 through the fill hole. Check out the owner’s manual to see how many oil you can add. Also I recommended you use Idemitsu racing oil it will help the engine kept in good condition.
Replace your fill cap, check around and close the hood
Start the engine and ensure the oil pressure light goes off after start-up. Look under the 1993 Mazda RX-7 to see if there is any leak while your engine is running.
