How to Change Oil
This is a demonstration of how to change the oil in a tractor step by step.
Supplies
1. For changing oil, collect all supplies, such as oil, an oil filter, and funnel.
Gather Tools
The next step you will need is to get the correct wrench size for the oil plug and an oil filter wrench to remove the old oil filter so it can be replaced with a new one.
Warm Tractor
After getting these supplies, warm up the tractor so the oil gets warm and thin which allows it to drain better and faster.
Place Oil Pan
Place the oil pan under the drain, unscrew the plug and let it drain
Remove Old Filter
While the oil is draining, remove the old oil filter with the oil filter wrench
Clean Surface Area
Then clean the surface area where the oil filter was and make sure the old rubber gasket is removed before placing the new one on.
Place New Filter
Place the new oil filter on, put a layer of oil around the rubber gasket so the next time it needs to come off, it will be able to be removed easier.
Screw Filter On
Next, screw the oil filter back on a little more than hand tight. Than make sure all of the old oil has been drained out.
Clean Oil Plug
Then go find the oil plug, clean it up with a shop rag, and screw the plug back in.
Put in New Oil
Finally, replace the new oil with a measurable amount and that’s how you save money changing your own oil.
