Freddy from PoorManMods shows you how to change rear differential fluid by using a drill pump and 75w90 gear oil in his 2008 Lexus ISF

75w90 Gear oil, I prefer to buy it by the gallon as its cheaper per quart: https://amzn.to/3sCaHOm

Raise the Car

Safely raise the car using a jack and jack stands, a lift or ramps. Make sure the car is as level as possible so you can accurately put in the proper amount of fluid.

Locate the Drain and Fill

Locate the drain and fill plugs on the differential. Before you do anything, break loose the fill plug to make sure you are able to remove it. If the fill plug is stuck or gets stripped out or anything, and you find out after draining the differential you can be in big trouble.

Drain the Fluid

Remove the drain plug to drain the fluid, make sure to catch it in a drain pan and dispose of it properly. Then look at the magnetic drain plug, it will be covered in sludge and tiny metal bits, inspect it for large chunks of metal. Clean off the sludge and metal shavings to make sure the drain plug is clean for reinstallation.

Using a drill pump or hand pump fill the differential if the vehicles proper fluid, in this case I used Redline 75w90 which is a great gear oil for most differentials with or without a limited slip.

Place a flashlight behind the bottle of gear oil so you can see how much fluid you are transferring. Fill the differential until fluid starts to dribble out of the fill plug hole.

Youre Finished

Once fluid is dribbling out, reinstall the fill plug and tighten it. Then lower the car back onto the ground and youre finished.
