How to Build a Computer
This Instructable is to teach you how to build a computer.
Why would you want to build a computer you might ask, well there's many reasons main ones are it being cheaper and then you know how to take it apart if you'd like to upgrade it in the future.
Supplies
In order to build a working Computer we will need a CPU (Central Processing Unit), a CPU Fan or Heat sink, a Motherboard, and some RAM.
Normally you will need a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) however our budget doesn't include that and our CPU has integrated graphics
In the step we're putting the CPU (Central Processing Unit) into our motherboard which is the brains of our computer.
First we want to make sure the little golden triangle at the bottom left of our CPU is lined up with the silver triangle on our motherboard CPU slot. This specific CPU is an Intel which means its LGA (Lan Grid Array) which means the pins are on the motherboard not the CPU.
In order to install our CPU we're going to set it in the CPU slot on the motherboard do not apply pressure it'll fall into place if you have it correctly oriented, then you'll pull the bracket down and secure the arm.
Put a rice size bead of thermal paste on top of it then go onto Step 2
Once you have the CPU in place the cooler on top of it and align the pins with the bracket and turn the plastic pegs to secure it.
Then plug in the Fan to its port you can find where it plugs into by reading the motherboard it will say what's what.
Now we put in the RAM (random-access memory) make sure you have the notch is lined up with the notch in the motherboard ram slot then push down and if you have it correct way it should go in without much force.
Before we put the motherboard into the case we need to put the power supply in so we can plug in our motherboard.
There will be a place in the case for the power supply normally on the bottom in the back.
Make sure you put it in the right way which means you have access to the rocker switch and the plug to plug it in.
Put the motherboard into the case and we'll start to plug in the different cords to power the computer.
First we want to plug in the 24 pin connector that is what powers our motherboard
Second we'll plug in the 4/8 pin connector which powers the brain of our computer the CPU
Third we'll plug in the front panel connectors, we need to make sure we have everything plugged in correct or it won't work
Lastly lets make sure the audio connectors and the fans
Last plug it in and make sure everything works
