How to Bind Off - Knitting Tuttorial
So, you’ve finished the last row of your knitting project…and you’re wondering what to do with all those live stitches!
It’s time to Bind Off!
If you’re new to knitting, this is a simple & basic bind off that will finish off your work with a nice edge.
Now, if you’ve never tried this…you won’t believe just how incredibly easy it is!
Watch the video below, follow the photo tutorial…or both to learn how to bind off knitting!
The First Thing You Want to Do, Is Make Sure Your Work Is Facing You As If You Were Ready to Start Another Row.
Begin by Knitting 2 Stitches
Insert Your Left Needle Through the Front of the 1st Stitch on Your Right Needle.
Lift This Stitch Over the 2nd Stitch on Your Right Needle.
Let Lifted Stitch Drop Off.
Knit Next Stitch on Left Needle
Remember, you’ll always start with 2 knit stitches on your right needle
Now Repeat Until You Have Only 1 Stitch Remaining on Your Needle.
This Is What It Should Look Like When You Get to Your Last Stitch
Cut Your Working Yarn Leaving Approximately a 10″-12″ Tail.
Thread Your Yarn Tail Onto a Tapestry Needle
Sew Through Fron of Last Stitch
Pull Your Needle and Yarn Gently to Tighten
Try not to pull to tightly, as it might warp the end. Pull just until it is firm and uniform to the other bound off stitches.
Weave in Your Yarn Tail on the Back Side of Your Work Until It Is No Longer Visible.
You've Now Bound Off!
And that’s all there it to a basic bind off! Now, you can complete all your knitting projects with confidence!
I hope this helped you and let me know if you have any questions in the comments below!
Happy Knitting!
