Supplies
Ingredients:
255g all-purpose flour
½tsp salt
½tsp baking soda
220g brown sugar
100g white sugar
85g melted butter
1 egg +1 egg yolk
Materials needed:
2-5 bowls
Measuring spoons
Measuring bowls
Spatula or wooden spoon
Whisk
Ice cream scooper (optional)
Dry Ingredients
Add-in 2 cups of all-purpose flour in a small bowl. In the same bowl, add in 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda along with a 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Whisk everything together.
Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, add in 1 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup of white granulated sugar. Melt 3/4 stick of butter and add it in the same bowl. Mix with your spatula/wooden spoon until smooth. After all the ingredients are mixed in and combined, add in 1 large egg and 1 egg yolk along with 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract. Stir everything together until blended.
Combine Everything Together
Now you want to add in your dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix everything together. After a while of mixing, there will be lumps and chunks so go ahead and use your hands to knead your cookie dough. When your cookie dough is kneaded and smooth, add in 1 cup of chocolate chips or chocolate chunks. Mix the chocolate chips in the dough with your hands
Bake and Enjoy!
Cover your cookie dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate it for 20 minutes. This is so it will be easier to shape onto the baking pan. After 20 minutes, scoop out your cookie dough with an ice-cream scooper or shape a small ball with your hands and place those on a cookie sheet about 3 inches apart. Bake these at 325F for about 13 minutes. Once they have come out of the oven, place them on a cooling rack or a plate and let them cool for 15 minutes. Enjoy!
