How to Add Texture and Apply a Bump Map to the Moon in 3D CAD
Creating realistic 3D models involves more than just shaping geometry, it requires the thoughtful application of textures and surface details. In this article, we focus on enhancing a model of the Moon by adding texture and applying a bump map using SelfCAD, a user-friendly 3D modeling platform that simplifies complex tasks. Bump mapping is a powerful technique that simulates surface irregularities like craters and ridges without increasing the polygon count, making it ideal for replicating the Moon’s rugged terrain. This article will guide you through the process of applying realistic textures, and using a bump map to bring the lunar surface to life in SelfCAD.
