How to Walk
Walking is an important part of your life, and necessary to many luxuries, such as running, bicycling, and hard-core parkour.
To some, this may be a first, and to others it may be as easy as sharpening a pencil (if you do not know how to sharpen a pencil, I will hopefully make an instructible for that soon). It may not seem important, but just imagine life without walking. If you couldn't walk, then you wouldn't get anywhere, without a wheelchair, anyway. But wheelchairs cost money, and money doesn't grow on trees (well, technically, it does, but that's a different story).
Prepare Yourself
It is important to make sure that you are well-prepared to be able to walk. You must be hydrated, and have eaten enough beforehand to not faint or choke during walking. Make sure to not have any previous foot, ankle, knee, or leg injuries previously. Also, for a slightly better result, it would be recommended to perform leg stretches right before walking to not inflict any cramps or damage on the two appendages that allow walking.
Find a Suitable Spot
There is always the fear of hurting yourself while practicing walking. In order to prevent that, you need to find suitable space. A good spot is either in an open room or outside. in order to prevent stubbed toes and bruises, make sure that there are no obstacles along the way (e.g. banana peels, roller skates).
Bend Your Left Knee
It is important to not bend your knee too much, because it looks awkward. If you are having a hard time with this step, you might have a hard time with the others.
Raise Your Left Leg
Only raise it slightly, only about four or five inches. You may seem jerky and bad at it, but that's okay for now.
Move Your Left Leg Forward
You want to move your leg forward about 10 or so inches, depending on the length of your leg. You may figure out that in order to accomplish this, you will need to lean forward throughout this process. You will probably want to combine this step and the next.
Lower Your Left Foot to the Floor
This is probably the simplest step in the process. Move your foot to the floor, still moving it slightly forward from the previous step, and making a slight arc. This will make your walking smoother and eliminate a lot of questions such as "where did you learn to walk, bozo?" Also, remember to touch down your foot's heel, then toe.
Straighten Your Left Knee and Bend Your Right Knee
You want to straighten one leg and bend the other nearly simultaneously, creating a smooth and well-practiced walk. You still want to lean forward, as much as is needed to perform this successfully.
Repeat the Steps, But With the Right Leg
Simple. Just repeat the steps on your right leg to achieve two steps. With practice, you may be able to do four or five on your first or second try. Also, remember to place your foot down, heel-toe. Heel-toe. Heel-toe (and so on).
Practice Makes Perfect
As you might know, the key to get better at anything is either practice, or steroids (in which I outright forbid). With the given choices, practice is the only way to be perfect.
Now, enjoy! You will be able to show off and all of your friends will be jealous that you can walk.
Please note: I am not responsible for any accidents while learning how to walk.
