How to Make the Turbo Ghost Paper Airplane

142_7209.JPG
Fast, long range and stealthy, the Turbo Ghost paper airplane is a more capable successor to the popular but outdated Ghost. The Turbo Ghost is sturdier, faster and capable of flying further than the original Ghost and is no less stealthy or shapely either. This aircraft is based in spirit upon "the Stealth" seen here, but the two have little in common.

TAA USAF Designation: A187-1

Take your paper and fold it along its length. Then pull the corners in and fold them into the center.

Pull the nose down along the bottom of the corner folds. Then pull the corners into the center. Then open them and fold their inner corners up to the crease. Then fold them back along the crease. Then pull the small triangle that remains over the two folds.

Fold the airplane in half along its center fold. Measure 0.75 inches above the center fold and make a mark (Mark A). From this mark, measure a further 0.5 inches upward along the trailing edge and make a mark (Mark B). From this point, measure 0.75 and 1.5 inches upward and make marks at each (Marks C and D). From the 0.75 inch point, measure 1 inch perpendicular to the trailing edge and make a mark. From this mark, make lines to the marks B and D. Once you have done this, measure 0.5 inches back from the leading edge at the wingtip and make a mark (Mark E). Then connect marks D and E with a line. Measure 0.75 inches in from the wingtip along the trailing edge and then measure perpendicular to trailing edge and make a dotted line. When this has been completed cut along all solid lines as shown. You may discard the pieces cut off by this.

Fold the wings down 0.75 inches above the center fold (at Mark A). Then fold the wingtips down along the dotted line made previously. Apply tape to the nose, back and across the wing root near the back.

Flight

142_7209.JPG
Similar to the original Ghost, the Turbo Ghost requires a moderately fast launch at a negative or neutral attitude. If your Turbo Ghost dives, bend the outer wing sections' trailing edges very slightly upward. Some test flights may be necessary to set the trim properly. Additional applicable surfaces include slats, flaps, flaperons, elevators, ailerons, elevons and rudders. Enjoy!
