How to Make the Super Hammerhead Paper Airplane

A fast, large, and long range paper airplane, the Super Hammerhead is an advanced design. Like almost all designs related to the smaller Hammerhead, the Super Hammerhead is a smooth flier.

TAA USAF Designation: A65-1

Begin folding your paper in half along its length. Proceed to then fold it into fourths. After this is done, the paper should appear as it does in the fifth slot.

Corner Folding

From the corners, fold the paper down to the fourth crease in the paper. Repeat this on the other side. Then fold the paper into the center again along the bottom of the previous corner folds. Do this on both sides.

Nose Folding

From its previous position, fold the nose back to the trailing edge on the other side of the paper.

Prepare to Make the Canard

Turn the paper over to the side opposite that of the pulled down nose. Pull the corners down into the center of the "clean" side. Then turn it over so it looks as it does in the third picture.

Now begins what is probably the most difficult step in making this airplane. Beginning on the side with the diamond, pull the paper in the diamond open. This step is kind of hard to explain, so following the pictures is about all I can give you at this time.

Fold the Wings and the Winglets

To make the wings, fold them down so that the valley between the wing and canard meets the bottom of the fuselage. To make the winglets, fold the paper of the wingtips into the fourth folds.

Taping

Taping the Super Hammerhead is a very easy task. Tape the front and back of the fuselage together. Then flip the airplane on its back and tape the two flaps on the fuselage together.

Flight

Your Super Hammerhead is now ready for flight! Like its ancestor, give this airplane a nice fast throw to achieve the high speed and long range flights. Enjoy!
