How to Make the Hammerhead Paper Airplane

The Hammerhead is a fast dart with a long range. Its high accuracy and range rivals that of the much larger though simpler, Kingcobra paper airplane.

Materials

Required:
1 Piece of 8.5 by 8.5 inch paper
Tape
Optional:
Scissors (modifications only)
Pencil

Half Fold

Make a valley fold in your square piece of paper.  Then fold it into the center again.

Corner Folds

Fold the corners into the fourth lines. Then flip, and pull into the center.

Blunt Nose Fold

Turn over from its previous postion and pull the nose's tip down to the rear of the paper. Then turn the paper over and pull the top into the center.

Open the Canard

Flip from it's previous postion. Open the fold as pictured. It should then appear like this.

Fold the Top Down

Fold the "hangout" over the aircraft, then tuck the paper in.

Fold the Wings

Fold the aircraft in half along the center from it's previous position. Then fold the wings down about 1 inch above the center. Repeat on the other side.

Winglet Fold

Fold the wingtips into the fourth line. Repeat on the other side.

Tape

Tape at the indicated points.

You can modify the Hammerhead in two ways:

EF65-1 Hammerhead:  An F65-1 Hammerhead featuring an electronic warfare tail.
