Following up my last instructable, "How To Make Glue Bugs", this sequel shows how to expand the scope and size of glue critters.  Basically the same tools are used, it's just a matter of scale and a few parts that are different, the wings for example.  I was able to obtain exposed x-ray film to use for black wings, or even paint them for other colored wings as shown.  Several different 'monsters' are shown, and techniques suggested.

Sketch or Plan the Creature You Want to Make

This may be helpful, but I just had a vision of what I wanted, and took off.

Make the Body

Here, use the large glue gun and big glue stick!   I made the body by covering a  small glass bottle  with glue and allowing it to harden in place.  I was able to obtain these small bottles from the workplace (hospital lab), and have used them in several projects.

Make Wings Out of Thin Plastic or Even Cardstock

Notice how the wings are cut.  To make them symmetrical, draw the shape you want on a folded over piece of cardstock, or in the case of the plastic or x-ray film, cut two shapes out at once.

Paint Details Such As the Mouth and Teeth

Bodies and details are painted with colors of your choice. I liked the black guy, and used various colors for the other creatures.

Use Premade Eyes

I bought a bag of varying size eyes from the craft store, and simply glued them into place with the small glue gun.

Make a Stand for Your "Terror Dactyle".

The great black beast is mounted on a nail, heated and inserted into it's underbelly. Then the nail can be pushed into a piece of styrofoam which has been painted to resemble a rock formation.
