How to Make Chicken Braid

Are you looking for a filling and delicious main dish? Chicken braid is a flavorful and quite simple recipe that can feed 4 to 5 people. This recipe takes about 20 minutes to prepare and ready to serve in 40 minutes

Assemble Ingredients and Cooking Materials

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of chopped, cooked chicken (2 chicken breasts)
  • 1 cup of fresh broccoli, chopped
  • 1/2 a red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 a green bell pepper, chopped
  • 4 ounces of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages of refrigerated crescent rolls (flavor can very on preference)
  • 1/2 tablespoons of Garlic Salt

Equipment

  • Large dark baking sheet
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Hand operated chopper
  • Cutting board

Prepare Veggies

  1. Clean and wash broccoli, onion, and both bell peppers
  2. Cut both bell peppers and onion in half

  3. Then remove stems and seeds from bell peppers

  4. Remove outer most layer from the cut in half onion

  5. Cut broccoli florets off of its main stem

Chop the Vegetables With the Chopper

  1. Take the clean and cut vegetables and use the hand operated chopper to chop them
  2. Once chopped add the chopped vegetables into the large mixing bowl

Chop the Cooked Chicken With the Chopper

  1. Warning: Make sure Chicken is fully cooked before using chopper and mixing with other ingredients
  2. You can cook the chicken either by microwave, baking, or using a frying pan
  3. Place the two chopped chicken breasts into large mixing bowl with chopped vegetables

Non-chopped Ingredients

  1. Add ½ cup of mayo into large mixing bowl
  2. Then add the 4 ounces of Shredded Cheddar Cheese into the large mixing bowl (half a bag of cheese)
  3. Add ½ tablespoon into large mixing bowl

Mix All of the Ingredients Together

Dough Preperation

  1. Open up first crescent roll package and place dough on cooking sheet
  2. Open up second crescent roll package and place parallel to first package on cooking sheet
  3. Press together all of the crevices and parting lines in the dough

Now Place Ingredient Mix in the Center of the Dough

Braiding the Chicken

  1. Take a knife and cut lines perpendicular to the ingredient mixture centered on the dough, and have the cuts be spaced roughly 1 inch apart
  2. Once dough has been cut you will need to take the first cut piece of dough on the right side and twist it (braid) to the center of dough (Image 3 above)
  3. Then you will take the first cut piece of dough on the left side and braid it over top the right side piece in the center of braid. (Image 4 above)
  4. You will continue this till you get to the last pieces on each side, once you have reached this state you will remove the right side last piece of dough and place it in front of the braid (Images 5 and 6) to keep mixed ingredients inside of braid
  5. Now you will take the last cut piece of dough and place it over the back end of the braid. By doing this you will keep the mixed ingredients inside of the braid (Image 7)

Place in Oven at 375 Degrees F (Warning: Oven Will Be Hot Be Careful When Placing in Oven)

Wait for 10-15 Minutes (or Until Crust Is Golden Brown)

  1. Warning: when removing chicken braid for oven it will be hot, so on this note make sure to be using the proper handling material.
  2. Turn off oven
  3. Let chicken braid sit for about 5 minutes once removed from the oven

You Can Now Serve and Enjoy the Chicken Braid
