How To: Bracelet With Small Rubber Bands

Since young, I have always loved making these bracelets with small rubber bands. In elementary school, they were all the rage, and being able to make these tiny works of art caused me to feel special. This is a very simple project, however making one of these bracelets and giving it to a friend, family member, or even someone you barely know, can absolutely make their day. You can always keep one for yourself, too!

In this instructable, I am going to take you step by step on how to make a bracelet with small rubber bands, along with some special tips of mine, that make the process much easier than it already is.

Be Prepared!

For this project, you will need:

  • 25 rubber bands
  • A C-Clip, as shown in the picture.

The rubber bands will serve to make the bracelet, and the C-Clip will help tie it together at the end.

Wrapping the First Rubber Band

Take one rubber band:

  • Wrap it around two of your fingers.

This will be the base of the bracelet.

I recommend that you wrap it around your index and middle finger as those two fingers provide the most control in your hand.

Take a second rubber band:

  • Wrap it around the center of the first rubber band.

You will do this by taking one end of the rubber band, pulling it through one side of the rubber band, and continuing to hold it once it comes through the other side.

Make sure to compare what you have to the photo, and use the photo as an example.

Repeat

Repeat the process from "Step 2: Begin Making the Bracelet" with the rest of the 25 rubber bands. Once completely tied together, they will eventually make a bracelet.

! Important Tip !

If your fingers start hurting while making this bracelet, move on to "Step 4: Important Tip" and I have some advice for you there.

Holding all the rubber bands can get tiring, so it can be simpler to begin taking the last band off your finger to make space for the next band. Don't worry if at first it looks weird, by the time you have more rubber bands on the bracelet, it should look like my example!

The Perfect Fit

Pro Tip!

Once you use up all your rubber bands, measure the bracelet around your wrist without taking it off your finger. It should be able to wrap around, however, as you can see in the picture, it needs to wrap around very tightly. If it is too loose or too tight to wrap around, then you might need to take away some rubber bands or continue the process by adding some. However, if it can wrap around, then it should be comfortable once you make it a bracelet.

Congratulations! You are now done with the most difficult part of this instructable! All you have to do now is:

  • Hook the C-Clip onto both ends of the bracelet.

First, slip the C-Clip on to one end of the bracelet, I recommend for it to be the one that is holding on to your fingers. Then, slip the other end in to the C-Clip, where it will meet the opposite side of the bracelet. The photo is what it should look like once you hook the first end. Then use that image to copy it for the second end.

You Made It!
