Place the flour, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl and combine. Scatter chunks of butter in the flour mixture and rub in with your fingers until it resembles coarse yellow meal.  Sprinkle the water over it and stir with a wooden spoon until it is a nice smooth dough. Form a ball with the dough and wrap it in plastic wrap. Refrigerate it for 1 hour.

Put the butter in a large skillet. Melt it until it is foamy. Add the apples, sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and nutmeg. Mix with a wooden spoon and cook over medium high heat until it starts to become a caramel-like substance and the apples are softened. Transfer to a bowl and cool it to room temperature.

Roll out the pie crust and lay over a pie pan. Smooth to the pan until it is nice and neat. Fold over the edges of the crust hanging over the edge. Now, place two fingers on the edge of the crust and push another finger in between them to "curl" the crust. Fill it with the apple filling and sprinkle the crumb topping over it. Bake at 350 F degrees for 40 minutes. Enjoy!
