How to Age Wood

Have you ever wanted some reclaimed wood for a project? With the recipe you can age your own wood. Make new wood look old.
Recipe for Aging Wood

Take a glass jar and fill 3/4 full of vinegar, then drop a piece of steel wool into the jar and screw the lid on. Shake the jar a couple times a day for 5-7 days.
Aged Wood Mixture

The mixture is ready when the steel wool has dissolved. You can also add a little instant coffee granules to darken it up even more if needed. Just add 1/2 teaspoon and shake
New Wood

Take you a piece of new wood. (I am using a cedar fence slats as my example). Paint the mixture onto your board.
Aged Wood

You will see a difference in your wood pretty quick, but will get darker as it dries.
