How to Make Delicious Garlic Herb Compound Butter
Looking for an easy way to kick your cooking up a few notches?
This simple recipe for garlic herb compound butter will add depth of flavor to anything you cook with it.
Use some to sear a steak or make homemade Smash Burgers. Or spread on some bread and pop into the broiler for the best garlic bread you'll ever taste.
Supplies
Here's what you'll need:
- 1 stick of unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons parsley
- salt to taste
Prep Your Ingredients
Let your butter sit out for a bit until it softens. If you're in a hurry you can pop it in the microwave for about 20 seconds.
Cut up your herbs. This recipe uses parsley but you can mix and match with your favorite flavors. Chives are another of my favorites.
You can mince the garlic into tiny pieces, but I prefer to use a garlic press. I find that pressing really releases the flavor and makes it easier to fully incorporate into the butter.
Mix Your Ingredients
Using a fork or a silicon spatula, mix the ingredients together until fully incorporated.
Store for Future Use
If not using immediately, you can store it in the fridge or freezer so it's ready when you need it.
Form it into a log shape and wrap in wax paper, or transfer to a plastic container to keep it handy. Either storage method will allow you to carve out the amount you need while leaving the rest for later.
