Hot Chocolate Floaties

I made little animal cookies to float in my hot chocolate. these cute animal shaped cookies act like marshmallows that come in hot chocolate packets and they start to melt when you put them in your hot chocolate. this project was so fun to do and so worth it to see the little animals float around in my hot chocolate.

Supplies

for this project I used

-small bowls

-large metal bowl

-large pot

-hand mixer

-spoon

-Piping bags

-toothpick

-Baking paper

-Pan

ingredients

1 1/4 cups of sugar

6 egg whites

Food coloring

1 tbs Vanilla extract

black food marker

Egg Whites

in your large pot fill it with water and get it to a boil, for your double boiler. then in the large metal bowl add your separated egg whites, and put the bowl over your pot. you will not need the egg yolks.

Sugar

add your sugar to your egg whites and mix them until combined and the sugar is fully dissolved.

Mixing

next, take the bowl out of the pot so it is no longer on heat. then use your hand mixer to start to fluff up the mixture and add your vanilla extract. mix until the mixture can hold a stiff peak.

Coloring

separate your mixture into bowls. color each bowl any color you want so you can create whatever animal you want.

Piping

Put your different colored mixtures in the piping bags. Then on your baking paper pipe your little animals and use a toothpick to help shape them better.

Baking

Add it in the oven and bake for an hour and a half at 200 degrees f. After you take them out of the oven let them cool and then use your food marker to add details.

Hot Chocolate

Last make any hot chocolate of your choice and make sure your floaties are cooled and hardened. Then add tour cute animals on your hot chocolate to dissolve

Conclusion

This project was super fun to do and i would definitely make these again. Even though i had a few rough patches making them for the first time they still turned out fine and were still yummy.
