Hood Support Grommet (Super Inexpensive)

IMG_2246.jpeg

Found out in an almost unpleasant way when my hood support came off from the attachment point because the support grommet had broken off due to age. The hood support would rattle against the frame and there's only so much duct tape before I admit it's not a good idea.

Auto parts stores charge upwards of $10 for a replacement grommet.

By chance, I found a rubber grommet bushing at Lowe's and wondered if it might do the trick and it did.

Measure the diameter for the hood support. Now find yourself a grommet that is as close to this as you can. Squeeze the rubber grommet in place. Hook in the support and you're done! All for less than $3

Other Alternative Near $Free.99

Find yourself a rubber stopper, or even a cork from a wine bottle. Drill a hole for the support, and cut a groove to catch the hole in the car.
