If you love the taste of honey this is the candy for you.  Ok, maybe this wont win on looks but with some real good local honey this will win on taste every time.

Ingredients

1/2 cup white sugar
2 cups honey
1 Table spoon tahini (or peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter)
4c poppy seeds
3c Chopped almonds

At one time not long ago I remember seeing bulk poppy seeds and thinking two things.  First what would I do with that many poppies seeds.  And second they're spilling onto the floor.  Where I saw them I have no Idea.  I would try an indian market.

What?

You might as well do something while your watching tv.  Try chopping almonds, walnuts, cashews.

You only need almonds for this recipe but while your at it.

Got Honey?

Looked like 2 cups,  but as my luck would have it I'm short where to get honey 9:00 pm at night.

Well I'm saving the expensive honey.  Just have to send my eight year old out to the hive to get more.

If I didn't have bees I wouldn't have known the difference but once you try local honey you will stop buying it at the mega mart.

Pour mixture onto parchment and flatten to about 1/2 inch thick.  Use a rolling pin and another sheet of parchment to help flatten.

Let mixture set up until cool then cut into squares or diamonds (rhombus for the younger generation)  ( when and why did someone change diamonds to rhombus's and where does that leave lucy)

Eat and enjoy any that wont fit in the box.  Store any left in the fridge.  These turn out kind of sticky like baklava.

Caution after watching myth-busters  don't eat these if there might be a chance of drug testing within two weeks.
