If you own a RC car, you know that wheels are as important as the other parts mounted on them. They play a significant role in the way your car behaves on the track – when it comes to speed, braking & stability. So, these wheel gonna provide you the exact thing you need.

This is a simple mini sized RC Wheel made out of recycled materials. It can be a smart way to make a mini size wheel with Tyre for your RC car or motorcycle. This wheel has a big plastic tube that gives a glowing ring effect. As its homemade, therefore you can make of any diameter, any shaft size, any color, any combination of your choice.

These wheels provide you grip, durability, customization and satisfaction of making your own. Overall it is cheap, easy to make, and can be the best choice if made at home.

The wheel circumference here is made with a PVC pipe. Because it is hard, durable and cheap. So choose your PVC pipe of your desired diameter and cut it according to your width.

So, the rim of your wheel is ready.

Wheel Spokes

The wheel spokes are here made with dense Foam pieces. Cut the Thermocol piece at eight divisions as marked in figure. Cut out a hole in the middle part so that the bottle cap can insert.

Wheel Center Hub

The center hub part or the center disc part is made with plastic bottle caps. Its made with two identical caps of same size fixed back to back with hot glue, leaving a Shaft Hole at the center.

Then, make the Shaft hole spacer of size about 1 inch using a Aluminium pipe or even with a Pen Refill and cover it with Heat-shrink tube. Now, insert the shaft spacer through the center hole and fix it with of lots Hot glue.

Make sure the shaft is perpendicular to the disc.

Joining the Hub to Rim

Now insert the center Hub into the Spokes Rim and join the whole assembly together and fix them with super glue and hot glue. Tape the edges with black color tape or which color wheel you are making.

The Rim assembly is now completed so lets make the Tyre now.

Here we will make a glowing Tubed Tyre. For this we need a very light color plastic tube.

In my case i used Orange color, but you can use Cyan or lime Yellow, or bright Green color tube, these all color will provide you a glowing effect.

Next You can use Mouse pad or rubber like material. There will be three layers on the Tyre like, Rubber belt - Glowing tube - Rubber belt.

First cut the mouse pad like a belt of width as the wheel's Rim. Attach it on the Rim surface with glue so that it provides a grip for the tube. On above place the Glowing tube and fix it. Then finally again place the rubber belt above all with 2-3 layers and fix them with hot glue.

The wheel will be ready.

Final Thoughts

There might be a question arising in many people's mind that why i made the Tyre flat instead of Curvy ?

So, the main reason is if i made it curvy and you use it on a RC Motorcycle it would fall, but because it is flat now the cycle will not fall and stand perfectly. And for RC Cars also it will give a larger contact area which is good for various purposes.

So, now you've learnt how to make Mini RC Wheel with tube Tyre at home.

It can be used for many purposes according to the user, for your RC Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, Hover Boards, etc.
