Homemade Prefix for Ventilation.
A simple attachment to the ventilation allows to drain incoming air, and also to carry out its heating. The device has a huge potential for modernization, easy to assemble and install.
In the cold season in unheated rooms with the presence of heat sources, condensation forms, which has a harmful effect on the objects in the room, provokes the appearance of mold. The device allows the condensation of moisture from the air in the room, while simultaneously warming the incoming air from the street. The device is assembled literally in one evening with all the necessary components. For the assembly it will be necessary to purchase PVC pipes with a diameter of 100 mm.
The most important component of the device is a heat exchanger made of copper tubes. The quality of the outgoing air, its dehumidification and heating depends on it. Copper tubes should be so long that one end of the air is at the very beginning of the input tee (1). The end of the assembly must be at the edge of the tee (4) (in figure 4 the end of the assembly is indicated) Air from the room is tightened by the fan (3) and blows the assembly from the copper tubes. Since the air is warm, it transfers heat to the tubes. Inside the tubes cold air moves from the street. Thus, warm air from the fan (3) blows the tubes, transfers them heat, and they in turn warm up the street air. In this case condensate forms on the tubes.
The moisture contained in the room air condenses on the assembly, and if it is excess, it is drained from the system through the drain pipe (5). The air from the room that enters through the hole (3) passes through the tubes and enters the air duct, which is formed by two corners (6), (8) and a pipe segment (7) and connects to the air flowing into the room in the tee (9). To further accelerate the air flow, an exhaust fan is installed in the tee (9). It is extremely important to create a sealed partition in the assembly to prevent air from entering the space where the warm air of the room circulates. In the warm season, an additional tube is connected to the hole (3), inside which is installed the Peltier element. In the T-piece (1), an assembly of two radiators, two fans and a Peltier element is inserted. The fan (2) cools the hot surface of the Peltier element (4). The partition (3) prevents air from leaving the room through the radiator (2). Air from the room is sucked by the fan (6), cooled in the radiator (5), which is cooled by the cold side of the Peltier element (4) and passes to the lower part of the tee. The tee with its lower part is dressed on the inlet opening of the device, instead of an attractive fan.
Thus, in the warm time of the day, when the room is warm enough, the cold air cools the street air passing through the assembly tubes and helps to condense the moisture. The device can also be equipped with a time relay and a thermoregulator. Similarly - by changing the polarity of the Peltier element - it is possible to regulate both the temperature and the amount of condensate. Using self-made dampers, you can turn on the device in a closed loop operation, when the personal air does not enter the room, but the air inside circulates in a circle. In this case, the device acts as a moisture dehumidifier and as a small heater or cooler, depending on the polarity of the voltage on the Peltier element.
