Homemade Pepperoni Pizza
Pizza is a perfect dish for any occasion. It was originated from Italy. It consists of a flat bread topped with tomato sauce, cheese, pepperoni, sausage, etc. The combination of toppings is endless. Pepperoni pizza is my favorite! This pizza never disappoints. Many times, my family turned down convenient pizza places for this homemade pizza. Pizza can be difficult to make sometimes, but here are a few steps to help improve your pizza.
Supplies
Crust:
· ½ cup of warm water
· 1 ¼ cup room temperature water
· 2 ½ tsp active yeast
· 1 tsp sugar
· 1 ½ tsp salt
· 2 tbsp olive oil
· 4 cups of flour
· 2 tbsp of butter
· 1 tsp of garlic powder
· 1 tsp of parsley
Sauce:
· 1 (8 oz) can of tomato sauce
· 2 tbsp of tomato paste
· 2 tbsp olive oil
· 1 tsp granulated sugar
· 1 tsp of oregano
· 1 tsp of basil
· 1 ½ tsp of minced garlic
· 1 tsp of sugar
Toppings:
· 1 tbsp of olive oil
· 2 cups of mozzarella cheese
· ¼ cup parmesan cheese
· Slices of pepperoni
- 2 tbsp fresh basil
Prepare Pizza Dough
Add warm water and sugar to the yeast. Allow the mixture to sit for minutes. Then, add the room temperature water and olive oil to the mixture. Whisk to combine. Next, use hand or stand mixer to mix salt, flour, and the water mixture until the dough forms. Knead the dough until the dough becomes smooth. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise for 2 hours. Roll and form pizza dough to fit the size of the pan. If you want more than one pizza divide dough evenly.
Prepare Pizza Sauce
Combined all ingredients for pizza sauce in a small bowl. Refrigerate for 20 mins.
Add Toppings
Melt butter for 30 seconds. Add parsley to butter and spread it on the crust. Then, add tomato sauce, mozzarella, parmesan, and pepperoni on top of the pizza dough.
Baking
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Put pizza in the oven. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until crust is brown. Remove from oven, allow the pizza to cool for 10 minutes, slice, and then serve.
