Gift Giving Ideas For Newborns

Hi dear visitors of my page!

Today, I want to share some ideas of how to make a gift basket for a newborn at home: without going to a special store and paying for it! Hope you like this video and hope you visit my YouTube channel and watch my other videos from the Series of "Gift-giving ideas for..."

Thanks again for checking out my Instructables and my YouTube videos!

First of all we need to find a sturdy, nice-looking and a large enough basket to fit our gifts in.

If we don't like the color of the basket, we may either spray-paint it or we may just decorate it with ribbons or feathers. NOTE: PLEASE CHECK OUT THE VIDEO FOR THE DETAILS

ITEMS NEEDED:

1. A Basket or baskets

2. A small and large scotch-tapes

3. A narrow shiny ribbon and a wide silver ribbon to make a bow

4. Some small items that may sink inside the basket, will require some risers (I used the empty ribbon rolls)

5. And we need to have some gifts (including some cards) to put inside the basket/baskets. I have used a store-bought pillow for this time but for another gift basket I've used a totally homemade pillow (sorry lost the footage)

PLACING THE RISERS & COVERING THEM

First measure your gift heights & make sure where do you need to attach two of them together and where do you need to attach just one and scotch-tape them to the bottom of the basket.

Then make sure all your gifts are seen from both sides in their full height.

Then after nicely covering the risers with some tissue/gift-wrapping papers (color of your choice: you may just use the color of your basket) place your gifts into their "beds".

ATTACHING & STAPLING SOME OF THE GIFTS

After you have attached the risers and covered them, gently place your gifts into the baskets and see which spots you may use to ether staple them or even glue them, so they don't fall down from your basket or move around.

I've decided to staple from my monkey pillow's ear on one side and on the other side I've stapled the tag of the pillow to the handle of the basket.

I also attached the baby blanket to the handle of the basket by making a bow with the narrow blue shiny ribbon.

DECORATING & GETTING THE FINAL LOOK OF THE BASKET

After attaching/gluing all the gifts to the basket, you may use a shrinking plastic bag to put your basket in, for the future presentation.

Then you may just blow dry the plastic bag to shrink it and get the forms of your basket. At the end add the wide silver bow on top of your basket and attach or staple your gift card.

AND HERE WE GO: YOUR HOMEMADE GIFT BASKET IS READY TO TRAVEL TO THE NEWBORN BABY :))
