Homemade Garlic Bread

This is an easy recipe for garlic bread. Perfect as a sidedish or as fingerfood at the next occation where you need to bring along food.

What You Need

Here is what you need:

- 4 cups of flour

- salt

- pepper

- 1 1/2 cup of water

- 1 package of yeast

- 5 cloves of garlic

- 1/2 cup of butter

- olive oil

Dough

To make the dough mix 1 1/2 cups of lukewarm water with one package of dry yeast.

Put 4 cups of flour and a pinch of salt into a mixing bowl. Add the yeast and water and mix it.

When the mixture looks like on the second picture you need to knead it a bit more until it is one big dough. You might need to add some water or flour to achive that.

Cover the dough and let it rise.

In the meantime you can prepare the garlic butter mimxture.

Preheat the oven to 160°C / 320°F.

Take about 5 cloves of garlic and chop them.

Melt the butter in a pan and add the garlic, a pinch of salt and pepper, 1/2 a teaspoon of sugar and a drizzle of olive oil.

Let it simmer at low temperature for about five minutes.

Baking

Take your dough and separate it into two pieces. Take these pieces and separate them again and so on, until you have 1 inch big scoops. Place them on a bakingsheet or casserol.

Put it in the oven for about 10 to 12 minutes. Or until they start to get golden.

When that happens take your garlic mixture and pour it over the breadrolls.The leftover garlic butter mixture can be used as a dip.

Put the breadrolls back into the oven and heat the oven to 220°C / 420°F. Now you have to watch them carefully. Make sure they don´t burn. All you want is a golden crust.
