Homemade Eco-Friendly Ice Lolly Recipe

IMG_3189-2.jpg

When I was a child I used to eat homemade ice-lollies during the hot summer days.

They were my favorite sweets, seriously!

The ice-lollies got the shape of my favorite cup and I used a teaspoon instead of a stick.

Now, as I grew older, it's time to share this super-easy-to-make, great sweet recipe with everyone!

And a big PLUS - all the ingredients are eco-friendly: No disposable products, no nylon, no foamed plastic!

Ingredients:

Pouring the Juice

Pour your favorite juice into the small cup (I poured an orange juice), fill at most 90% of the cup's capacity.

Putting the Teaspoon in the Cup

Put the teaspoon in the cup.

At this step you shouldn't be worried about the fact that the teaspoon lies on the side of the cup instead of being vertical to the cup's base.

Insert the Cup Into the Freezer

Time to put the cup into the freezer and wait for one hour (I inserted two cups: one containing orange juice and the other containing grape juice).

Aligning the Teaspoon and Waiting for Freezing

Now, one hour after the cup was inserted into the freezer, the juice became less liquid and more solid.

Therefore, we can change the position of the teaspoon within the cup:

Open the freezer and put the teaspoon in a vertical position related to the base of the cup.

After that, you can close the freezer and wait for a night. (I'd recommend going to sleep but waiting 10 hours is also a possibility. :D)

Pulling the Ice Lolly Out of the Cup

After the juice has become frozen, we need to pull our ice-lolly out of the plastic cup:

Take the cup out of the freezer, hold the edge of the teaspoon and pull the ice-lolly out.

In case you find it hard you should wait a few minutes (so the cup will get a bit warmer) and try again.
