Homemade Camembert Fondant
Although I've created many things as a kid, this delicious camembert fondant is one of my best childhood memory.
I've always enjoyed cooking, this is how I express my creativity.
In this instructable, we will create a fancy and delicious appetizer, which is something I've created almost weekly in my early years.
For this tasteful recipe you will need:
- 1 glass of beer (recommended and optional)
- 1.5 cups of extra virgin olive oil
- 2 Garlic head
- 1 piece of great camembert cheese
- 3 spoons of honey
- 2 spoons of date honey
- 2/3 rosemary branches
I hope you enjoy both the making process and the eating process!
Creating the Confit Garlic
Peel the garlic heads, I've discovered that microwaving them for 10~15 seconds makes the process much easier.
Put the garlic and add 2-3 rosemary branches in the pot and cover it with olive oil.
The hit must be the minimum your stove can get, and it is highly recommended to cook it for around 2 hours.
Although I didn't know that as a child - drinking a beer makes the time goes faster!
This is the best time to drink beer and relax :).
Cutting the Cheese, Stuff It With Goods
This is my favorite step in this making!
Cut the cheese's head in a way that you can fill it, try to cut as deep as possible so you will have enough room for many surprises :).
Fill the cheese body with confit garlic, honey, and date's honey.
Close the cheese using its head.
Decorate your appetizer with honey and date's honey.
Let the Oven Do the Magic
Insert your piece of art into a 180 C (350 F) preheated (this will keep the cheese stable while it's inside is melting), oven for about 15 minutes.
Preape your serving dish (using arugula leaves is recommended).
This is another great time for you to relax after all the hard work, sit down and finish your beer.
After it is creamy from the inside and solid from the outside, serve that cheese volcano and enjoy it!
