After traipsing through the woods, or just playing in the yard, you're bound to have recieved an annoying bug bite at some point. Here is a simple, powerful, and natural anti-itch balm for any bug bite occasion!

Gather Your Materials

You will need several things to construct your very own bug balm.

1. Mortar and Pestle, food processor, or anything else you can mash stuff up with.

2. Lemon

3. Basil

4. Honey

5. Cloves (whole or ground)

First squeeze your lemon. This is your base, but the rest of the ingredients are pretty watery, so you'll want to go easy. About a teaspoon should do the job just fine.

Muddled Perfection

Next crush and muddle in about ten sprigs of basil in the lemon juice. Basil has some very interesting numbing qualities, and is a perfect addition to our balm.

A Bit of Honey

One Tablespoon of honey should just about do the trick. Mash it up right with the basil and lemon. Honey has mild antibacterial properties, and will help heal the bite.

Cloves, the Numbing Wonder

This is the most important ingredient of all. Cloves have a delightful numbing effect. You can chew a clove as a sore throat remedy. ( just not too many, or your tongue will go numb) Add two or three tablespoons to your mixture, and mix it up with the other ingredients.

Apply to the Bite

Let the mixture marinate for about thirty minutes, but then go wild. You can dab it on with a finger, or paint it on with a brush. Either way you should be itch free in a matter of moments. When you are ready to remove, wash it off, don't wipe otherwise you're right back to where you were in the first place.

Hope this helps your summertime misery! And thank you for taking the time to read this!
